❯ Isomorphic Labs seeks about $5 billion in funding at roughly a $50 billion valuation

A round under negotiationBloomberg reported early on November 5 Beijing time, citing people familiar with the matter, that Alphabet’s AI drug-discovery company Isomorphic Labs is in talks to raise roughly $5 billion at about a $50 billion valuation. The financing has not closed and terms could change.

Turning molecular predictions into research servicesSpun out of Google DeepMind, Isomorphic develops IsoDDE, a drug-design engine that combines models to predict biomolecular interactions and design candidate medicines. It advances internal programs and works with companies including Lilly, Novartis and Johnson & Johnson. Pharmaceutical partners pay for research against specific disease targets, typically through upfront payments, development milestones and potential sales royalties. Its collaboration announcement describes this structure for Lilly and Novartis.

About six months after its last roundIsomorphic completed a $2.1 billion Series B led by Thrive Capital in May. The official announcement allocated that capital to scaling its engine, advancing candidate programs toward the clinic, and hiring AI, engineering, drug-design and clinical specialists. The new talks seek a larger sum; detailed allocations have not been announced.

Capital connects models with experimentsPredictions must connect with experiments, candidate optimization and clinical development, creating continuing investment needs beyond software. Operating both partnerships and internal pipelines requires Isomorphic to allocate capital across technology and drug programs. A completed round would expand its capacity to fund that work.

▮ SIGNALAI drug-discovery funding is growing as development spans more stages, with both platform models and candidate pipelines shaping capital requirements.
