❯ Meta expands AI equity funding as its $25 billion share sale draws fivefold demand

Orders concentrate among large investorsBloomberg reported on October 27 that Meta’s upsized $25 billion common-stock offering attracted orders for approximately five times the available shares. The 15 largest allocations accounted for roughly 70% of the shares, with more than half going to long-only and existing investors. Pricing was $625 a share, about 2.7% below the Friday close before the offering was announced.

The wider plan has several componentsThe wider financing plan includes the common-stock sale alongside $12.5 billion of mandatory convertible preferred shares and a planned at-the-market program, expected no earlier than the first quarter of 2027 after Class C shares begin trading. Adding $12.5 billion, $25 billion and up to $60 billion produces $97.5 billion, rounded in reporting to about $98 billion. The total is neither the size of this common-stock offering nor cash already received.

Capital supports a longer buildoutMeta intends to fund AI infrastructure and personal superintelligence, including its Muse agent and Muse Wonder model. Equity issuance dilutes existing ownership while providing financing capacity. Fivefold demand indicates interest at the offering terms, without establishing that future AI revenue will cover every dollar invested.
