❯ Blacksmith raises $66 million Series C to expand infrastructure for building and testing AI-generated code

Another round after two monthsTechCrunch reported on October 21 a $66 million Series C, led by Sequoia at a $1 billion valuation. Blacksmith raised a $45 million Series B two months earlier at $550 million. Total funding now stands at $125 million, with new proceeds supporting staff and compute expansion.

Generated code still needs checksBlacksmith supplies continuous-integration cloud infrastructure for building, testing and validating code before it is merged. Faster AI coding increases the changes that need checking. Customers buy capacity, speed and operations rather than code generation itself. They include Mercury, Granola, Handshake and LangChain, extending the market beyond model developers.

Capacity follows workloadsThe company says weekly jobs have grown from 5 million in January to more than 90 million, with ARR up 17-fold. It manages just under 10 MW of compute and aims to expand that approximately fivefold in 2027. The operating figures are company-reported and expansion remains planned. The financing targets verification demand before software is released, complementing growth in code output.
