❯ Maxinsights raises $30 million seed round to sell real-world task data to robotics companies
A data layer for physical AIMaxinsights’ October 22 announcement confirmed a $30 million seed round led by Peak XV, joined by Tola, South Park Commons, INCE and Alumni Ventures. It also introduced quality-control software MaxLoop and disclosed work with Genesis AI on MaxGlove, a glove capturing touch and force data.
Turning ordinary work into training dataMaxinsights pays contributors to record real tasks such as cooking and cleaning using wearable equipment. It checks, labels and curates the footage for robotics model developers. The company says it has captured over 2 million hours, with 1.5 million model-ready, and serves more than 30 customers, eight under recurring contracts. These company-reported operating figures are distinct from revenue.
Usability determines valueRobots need clear hand movements, task sequences and object interactions rather than video alone. Cameras also cannot directly capture all the forces involved in handling objects. Investment in collection, automated quality control and sensing hardware aims to make usable data available consistently. The business converts work robotics companies might organize internally into procurement from a specialist supplier.
