❯ Team chat app Zenzap discloses $44 million in total funding and launches AI agents that do work
$44 million in totalZenzap disclosed $44 million in total funding, co-led by Bessemer and Lightspeed with The Garage, to expand development and sales and grow internationally. CTech says the total combines an $11 million 2022 seed and a $33 million Series A, not new money this week.
For non-technical teamsZenzap is a team chat app positioned as a Slack alternative for non-technical organizations. Founded in 2022, it has about 45 employees in Tel Aviv, the US and Europe; CEO Guy Weiss previously founded Stucco Media. It says more than 10,000 teams use it daily across marketing, sales, retail, healthcare, education, construction and food service.
An AI coworker in the chatZenzap launched AI agents that do work: type or speak in a group and they qualify leads, update the CRM, schedule shifts, reconcile payments and track invoices. CTech says an agent takes under 90 seconds to set up, and customers have built more than 40,000 workflows. Admins control who uses each agent, what it can see and which actions need approval.
Easy to start, permissions must be clearUnlike personal chatbots, Zenzap’s agents serve the whole group, where everyone sees what they did, which suits work passed between people. The catch is deciding whose instructions can change systems and whose data the agent sees; Zenzap says it complies with SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001.
▮ SIGNALAgents in team chats are the easiest to use and the hardest to govern, so rules on whose word counts come first.
