❯ North.cloud raises $60 million to help companies see where their cloud and AI money goes
PeakSpan leadsNorth.cloud announced on October 15 a $60 million Series B led by PeakSpan Capital, with Series A lead Companyon Ventures returning and Litquidity, Alpaca, Gaingels and others joining. The money goes to product automation, more integrations and marketing.
All the bills in one placeNorth.cloud gathers bills from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Snowflake, finds waste, forecasts budgets and adjusts purchasing automatically. According to SiliconANGLE, its TokenFlow feature also connects to OpenAI and Anthropic models, assigning usage to departments and projects alongside traditional cloud bills.
Started in a garageCo-founder and CEO Matt Biringer spent 13 years selling data center technology before starting North in his garage in 2023. Its first product automated discounted long-term cloud purchases; after seeing companies juggle spreadsheets and five to seven tools, he built a full cost platform. An AI assistant, Noros, explains spending changes in plain language.
$400 million savedIt manages nearly $2 billion of cloud spending, which is customers’ spending, not its revenue, and says it has saved customers over $400 million; customers include AssemblyAI, Tines, Atlan and SnapLogic. It has hundreds of customers and aims for 2,000.
AI bills are getting harder to readAI models charge by usage, and it’s hard to say at month-end which product or team spent what. Putting model costs and cloud bills together by business tells finance what to cut and what to add. Biringer says saving money is a business problem, not just an engineering one.
