01 MODEL

❯ Meta releases Muse Wonder models that rank just behind Claude Opus 5.5 on a third-party index, with the top version limited to coding subscribers

Two points off the topMeta released Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full on October 12 and called them its most capable models. On the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, as compiled by VentureBeat, Wonder Full scores 56, level with Claude Sonnet 5.5 and behind only Claude Opus 5.5 at 58. Wonder scores 52, and the previous Muse Spark 1.3 scored 48.

Remembering and persistingMeta highlighted two abilities. Active Memory lets the model keep important information about a user across conversations and pull up what matters for the current task. Active Focus keeps it working on a hard goal: it tries other approaches when blocked, asks for clarification when needed, and checks in before important actions. Both models take text, image, audio and video input, have a context window of about 1 million tokens, and were trained at Meta’s own Prometheus data center.

The top model is not sold by the tokenWonder is available on the Meta Model API and in the coding product Muse Code at $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, the same price as Opus 5.5. Muse Spark 1.3 costs $1.25 and $4.25. Wonder Full has no pay-as-you-go API and is offered only in the $50 and $200 monthly Muse Code plans. Meta also says Wonder will soon power its consumer product Muse, starting with subscribers.

Read the scorecard line by lineIn Meta’s own comparison table, Wonder Full scores 57.5 on SWE-Marathon, a long-running coding test, against 46.3 for Opus 5.5. Opus 5.5 still leads on Terminal-Bench and HealthBench Pro. VentureBeat notes that the table mixes third-party results with tests Meta ran itself, and that some coding comparisons used different tools. Meta says a full report with more safety evaluations will follow.

▮ SIGNALBy keeping its best model inside its own coding subscription, Meta is using the model to pull its product forward before building an API business; the tier developers can buy is already priced like a rival’s flagship.
