Investment alongside a headquarters plan01.AI announced on October 30 that it had reached an agreement with Hangzhou and its Linping district on October 28. Municipal and district state-backed investors will jointly invest several hundred million renminbi, and the company plans to locate its headquarters in Linping. The National Business Daily report does not specify the exact amount, valuation or cash-closing date. The headquarters move remains a plan.

From general models to enterprise operationsFounded by Kai-Fu Lee in 2023, 01.AI initially developed the Yi model family and subsequently shifted its commercial focus toward enterprise AI transformation. Its current products cover executive decisions, sales, investment analysis and industry applications, alongside a model platform and on-site engineering services. Customers procure systems connected to their data and processes to support decisions, execute tasks and turn analysis into trackable action.

Connecting technology to local applicationsIT Home’s account of the agreement says the planned headquarters will support an industrial AI transformation base. Since 2025, the company has focused on applications and worked with Alibaba Cloud on industry models. Its approach includes fine-tuning and customizing open-weight models, placing more work on customer data, industry knowledge and operating processes rather than retraining every underlying capability.

Capital needs a delivery relationshipThe arrangement links local capital and industrial resources to enterprise AI implementation. Local business applications could offer 01.AI a route to deploy and replicate products. Buyers need to assess whether systems fit their existing operations and complete specific tasks. Previously stated ambitions for a 2027 IPO and RMB1.5 billion in 2026 orders remain targets, not a filed offering or recognized revenue.
