❯ Jensen Huang remains open to CXMT cooperation and sees memory oversupply as unlikely through 2029

Responding to a potential supplier choiceDuring an October 22 CNBC interview at GTC Berlin, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said he was open to buying products from Chinese memory manufacturer CXMT. He emphasized Chinese companies’ manufacturing and infrastructure capabilities. The remarks were reported by IT Home; no purchasing agreement between the companies was disclosed.

Memory demand accompanies computing growthHuang also said memory oversupply was unlikely through 2029. This is his supply-demand forecast. AI systems need storage for parameters, intermediate computations and longer task contexts, but actual systems require specific combinations of interfaces, capacity, bandwidth and delivery capabilities.

Product and procurement steps still matterCXMT makes DRAM, the dynamic random-access memory used while computers operate. Openness to another supplier expands potential sourcing choices. Product specifications, qualification and purchasing arrangements must still connect that possibility to actual deliveries. Subsequent company disclosures would provide clearer evidence of any commercial scale.

▮ SIGNALAI memory demand is bringing supplier choices into focus, while product qualification and actual procurement determine whether interest becomes revenue.
