❯ NVIDIA discusses investing hundreds of millions more in Firmus after its Australian IPO withdrawal

A potential investment remains in talksA Bloomberg report carried by The Business Times, citing The Information, says NVIDIA is discussing an investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in Australian AI cloud provider Firmus Grid. NVIDIA is already a shareholder. Neither side has announced an agreement or closing for the possible additional investment.

Other financing follows the withdrawn listingFirmus withdrew its Australian IPO earlier in October, citing market volatility and shareholder interests. The company operates computing infrastructure for AI workloads, with GPU capacity at the center of its business. Chips, data centers and supporting infrastructure require upfront funding, making access to capital important after the withdrawal.

Supplier and customer financing become connectedAI cloud providers also buy NVIDIA chips and systems. An additional investment would give Firmus another capital source while supporting compute deployment. Equity funding can supplement financing options, but does not remove the operating requirements for customer demand, utilization and infrastructure delivery.
