❯ Numeral raises $100 million for AI-assisted tax compliance

What it automatesCompanies selling across states and countries must determine where tax obligations arise, register, calculate tax, file and remit. Numeral connects these processes and exemption-certificate management to billing and finance systems. It also supports VAT or GST compliance in more than 90 countries. A deterministic tax engine handles calculation, AI and automation assist with repetitive work, and specialists handle more complex questions.

Growth pathFounded in 2023, Numeral raised a $35 million Series B in September 2025. It expanded from sales-tax calculation and filing into obligation monitoring, registration, remittance and exemption-certificate management, connecting these functions to billing and finance systems. It also supports VAT or GST compliance in more than 90 countries. Numeral reports 327% year-over-year transaction-volume growth and expects its engine to process over 80 million transactions.

The financingNumeral announced a $100 million Series C led by Insight Partners, with Salesforce Ventures, Geodesic and others participating. The tax-software company raised a $35 million Series B in September 2025 and says total funding now stands at $157 million.

Industry impactThe new capital will fund products, hiring and expansion into software, manufacturing, distribution and wholesale. Tax rules change as companies enter new markets and sell new products, so processes need constant updating. Numeral could become everyday finance infrastructure if deterministic calculations, AI-assisted operations and human specialists handle routine work and exceptions reliably. Customers will judge accuracy, timely filing and accountability when something goes wrong.
