OpenAI raises Security Bug Bounty payouts and adds new researcher bonuses

OpenAI announced higher Security Bug Bounty payouts, with the midpoints of reward ranges for medium, high and critical findings more than quadrupling on average. Critical vulnerabilities in core products such as ChatGPT, Codex and the API Platform can earn up to $30,000. Exceptional critical findings retain a $100,000 base ceiling, rising to as much as $172,000 with bonuses. The company is also adding report-quality, five-tier loyalty and priority-campaign incentives to encourage outside researchers to find flaws its internal testing may miss.
