Thinking Machines Lab unveils Inkling 2 Small and plans to open the weights next week

Thinking Machines Lab introduced Inkling 2 Small, its second-generation Mixture-of-Experts model with 594B total parameters and 17B active parameters. The company said the model supports image inputs and variable effort, and scores 31 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, improving on its earlier models. Inkling 2 Small is available now through Tinker with closed weights, and full weights are planned for next week after external safety testing and red-teaming under an Apache 2.0 license.
