According to Ars Technica AI, Meta pauses its commercial terms update amid backlash
According to Ars Technica AI, Meta has indefinitely delayed plans to update its commercial terms and require Meta Business account users to allow broader AI training on external sites linked from Facebook. A company spokesperson said Meta is pausing the changes while it continues to engage with stakeholders and that existing terms remain in effect. The report says the update had already been pushed from Oct. 30 to Nov. 20 before pushback from users, courts and regulators forced another delay.
