Release dateMoonshot AI’s Kimi Code Desktop is available for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs and for Windows. Official release notes date the launch to September 17. A fresh round of Chinese coverage this week should not be mistaken for a September 21 first release.

WorkflowUsers can open a project, ask the agent to read and change code, run commands and inspect tool calls and file edits. A built-in terminal and browser sit alongside planning, approval prompts and background work, exposing what the agent does beyond a chat response.
